SocialMediaBranding:KeepingYourFeedOn-BrandWithoutLosingPersonality

Social media creates a specific branding tension: platforms reward spontaneity and personality, but brand consistency asks for restraint and repetition. Businesses often resolve this badly in one of two directions — either a feed so rigidly templated it feels robotic and nobody wants to engage with it, or a feed so loose and reactive that it barely looks like the same business from post to post.

The workable middle ground is separating what stays fixed from what flexes. Keep a small set of things genuinely consistent — your actual colour palette, your logo treatment, the fonts used in any graphics you create — because those are what make a scroll-past recognisable as yours in half a second, before anyone reads a word. Let everything else flex freely: the specific content, the format, the tone of an individual caption, even how playful or serious a post is on a given day. Consistency in the visual system doesn't require consistency in mood.

A practical way to build this without a rigid template library: create three or four simple, reusable graphic layouts (a quote format, a product showcase format, an announcement format) built once in your actual brand colours and fonts, then reuse the structure while swapping content freely. That gives you the recognisable consistency of a considered brand without needing to redesign something from scratch, or copy a rigid template exactly, every single time you want to post.

The palette and fonts a Brand Builder guide locks in are exactly what makes those reusable layouts possible. See Brand Builder (Basic) →
